Objectives

The Parish Nurse Preparation Course enables participants to:

• Gain theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to begin a parish nurse practice.
• Identify the difference between the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual dimensions of personhood, and how to assess the spiritual component.
• Recognize the parish nurse’s role in assisting clients to achieve wellness.
• Integrate a practical understanding of theology into the parish nurse role.
